“EMPEROR AND KING.”

EX-KAISER’S ADDITION TO SIGNA-

TURE.

DAMAGES CLAIMED FOR JUDGE’S PENCIL MARKS.

(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 12 a.m.) BERLIN, April 28th.

The ex-Kaiser’s use of the style “Imperator et Rex” has led to a curious lawsuit. A land sale necessitated the ex-Kaiser’s signature, and when this was returned it read “ Wilhelm, 1.R.” Judge Reichenback decided that the signature was illegal, and returned the paper with blue pencil marks querying the signature. The ex-Kaiser thi stime signed it “Wilhelm, Prince of Prussia,” and simultaneously filed a suit, for damages against the judge, that the pencil marks constituted property damage.
