CLEARING SALE ON ACCOUNT OF MR S. W. CARTER.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having had a very successful clearing sale on account of Mr b. Carter, at the farm, Ihakara, on v\ eanesday. There was* a large attendance of the public, with spirited bidding, and keen competition for quality heifers and cows. Quotations are as under: ■, n-l-Dairv Cattle. —Heifers at drop, £L>, £ls ‘ids, £l6, £l7, £l7 10s; good heifers close to profit, £l2 10s, £l3, £l3 ]os, £l4; late cal vers £7, £B, £8 10s, £lO ,10s to £ll 10s; springing cows, £8 10s, £9,. £lO, £lO 10s, £ll 10s, £l2, £l3 10s; yearling pedigree bull 17 guineas. Two lines of selected yearling Jersey heifers, one of 16 and the otlier of 10, realised £5 15s and £6 per head respectively. ■ Pigs.—Weaners, 19s; slips, 31s; sows to farrow, £6, £6 10s; sow with titter. £ll 10s.
