NEW VALUATIONS.
REDUCTIONS IN CASES OF CERTAIN BOROUGH RESERVES. INCREASE FOR WAIOPEHU DOMAIN. Advice as to. the revised valuations of Bprough property sHuated in the Wirqkino riding of the Horowhenua County was received by the Levin Borough Council last evening from the Valuer-General. In reply to a question by Or. Goldsmith, the Town Clerk stated that the abattoir was assessed at £6720 capital value and £9OO unimproved., value. In referring to the document, the Mayor stated that the Tiro Tiro Road metal pit site, formerly valued at £329, was now placed at £275. The water catchment area had been reduced from £625 to £B4O, which was a trifle more than 10s an acre. Cr. Goldsmith stated that the Department had reduced the values' of all the hill properties in the Wirokino riding. Cr. Hannan remarked that the prices of all farming lands were down, and so the valuations of all should be reduced. Cr. Goldsmith: In some, cases WiroKlno values have gone up. The Mayor: So have the hill values; mine has risen by £2BOO. His Worship added that the valuation of the Waiopehu Scenic Reserve had been increased from £4OO to £6lO. Mr Kilsby’s lease, of 41 acres, had been reduced in valuation by about *IOO.
