The captain of the French steame*' Asia, which caught fire in the harbour when leaving Jeddah (Arabia), wi:h 1500 pilgrims aboard, has wirelesse'i that 112 pilgrims, mostly Moslems, ax« missing and it is feared that all have perished. He stated that the croir -was unable to get all the pilgrims into in.* boats. Those who were left droppj.l to their knees on deck and remained praying till Overwhelmed by the flames.
