German-born Colonists Emigrate From Russia
iSO YEARS IN WILDERNESS. STILL SPEAK MOTHER TONGUE FAULTLESSLY. Received Tuesday, S.lO p.m. BERLIN. Dec. 2. The first ptirty of peasants permitted to leave Russia, consisting of 24! adults and 187 children, has arrived at Sydtkuhnon, Prussia. Two other detachments, totalling 900, are due by tomorrow. The German Government is. finding accommodation until their future is decided. The majority are Mcnnonites but their places of origin are widely separated, ranging from the Volga to Siberia, Turkestan, tlyj Caucasus and the Crimea. It is noted that although these families have been settled in Russia for 150 years, they speak faultless German. The majority wish to go to Canada.
