SMUTS AND VORBECK. DINE TOGETHER AT LONDON CELKBKATION. .Received Tuesday, fci.lo p.m. LONDON, Der. 2. Ten generals, e.ght admirals, IUOO oflicerrf and men and 40 nurses attended to-night's dinner of the East Airiest Association, at which General Von Letlow Vorbeck was the princinjil guest., sitting between General Smuts, who fought him and Admiral King-Hall, who bottled up tho Germans. General Vorbeck and his wife journeyed specially to Loudon for thefunction. General Smuts paid a warm tribute to General Vorbeck's fine leadership against superior forces. He added "Gatherings assisting in Making peaeo or wars arc the sport of youth, but wo have reached maturity and sown our wild oats. It is timo we settled down." General Vorbeck said he believed,, when General Smuts referred to peace,, that he meant peace in which a great,, proud nation can live.
