MASSEY COLLEGE.
MOST COMPLETE IN SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE. (By Telegraph — Association.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. Speaking at the ceremony this morning of laying the foundation stono of 1 the new buildings at Massey College, Sir George Fowlds, chairman of the College said it was anticipated there would bo a time when there would bo grouped round the building, training colleges for teachers where they will imbibe the agricultural atmosphere, which would enable them to pass on to the children a bias in favour of agricultural pursuits upon which the prosperity of the country must mainly de pend for many years to come. The College will not only give scientific training to a large number of future farmers of New Zealand but would be expected to provide scientifically trailed men for educational purposes, for experts in the Agricultural Department and for scientific research. When the present building programme was completed and a commodious hostel provided, there will be the moßt complete agricultural college in the British Empire south of the equator.
