ARROW LAD SHOOTS STRAIGHT IN ST. ANDREW'S HANDICAP. THE RAIDER WINS SPRINT AGAIN MELISSA HOME IN EMPIRE HANDICAP. What will go down in the Feilding Jockey Club's history as a memorable meeting was concluded in alternating sunshine and cloud yesterday. The attendance was rather larger than is usual on the second day and the tote put through £25,754, as against £21,034 for the second day of the 1928 meeting. The grand jubilee total was £53,012, compared with £41,391 last year. ArrowLad had a rather comfortable win in the St. Andrew's Handicap, and The Raider again carried too many guns for the sprinters. Backers of the favourites had a. lean time at the meeting and yesterday, only one first fancy (The "Raider) saluted the judge. An 'inquiry which was opened on Saturday into the running of Merry Mint in the Cup was adjourned till yesterday. It was disclosed that owner and trainer "had backed the gelding, but its performance was viewed with grave suspicion; though there was not sufficient evidence to warrant action being taken.
