SYDNEY SPORTSMAN ACQUIRES CHIDE FOR 6000 GUINEAS. SYDNEY, This Day. Mr T. C. Trautwein has purchased the New Zealand horse Chide for 6000 gns. and racing contingencies. PRICE A RECORD IN THE DOMINION. j3y Telegraph—Press Association.; CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The price paid for Chide, 6000 guineas, by Mr Trautwein, of Sydney, is a record for New Zealand. The horse will be shipped for Sydney on Thursday. The" four-year-old! chestnut gelding Chide, which was owned by the wellknown trainer, G. Murray-Aynsley, of Riecarton, won the last New Zealand Cup, and at the same meeting won the Canterbury Cup and the G. G. Stead Gold Cup. His victory in the Gold Cup was his ninth in succession. He is by Paladin—Reproachful, and is of the staying type.
