THE ST. KILDA MYSTERY.
POLICE PUZZLED BY WIRED PARTICULARS. LOOKING FORWARD TO TRIP. MELBOURNE, Nov. 2(5. The police are puzzled by the Biggs case, particulars of which were cabled from Auckland after the arrival of the Ulimaroa to-day. The last seen of Mrs Biggs was on November IS until her body was found in the sea at St. Kilda. Her husband loft a note at the People’s Palace, saying: “I am leaving for Auckland to-morrow (the 19th). You know whore to find me.”
The police cannot understand how the woman could get to Sydney with only 2s 8d which was found in her purse.
Mr Biggs called upon a friend named Miss Martin, at West Melbourne on November 19, saying ho had loft Ills wife doing shopping and adding that they wore both leaving for Sydney that afternoon to join the ship. 'Miss Martin added that Mrs Biggs, some days before, said she was looking forward to the trip. It is understood Mr Biggs preached at the Plymouth Brethren Church at West Melbourne before he left.

W. H. A. Biggs, who was informed on the arrival cf the Ulimaroa’yesterday that his wife had been found drowned at St. Kilda, returns to Sydney by the same steamer on Friday. Asked to-day whether he had seen the latest cable news from Melbourne and told that it did not altogether coincide with his published statement of yesterday, Biggs replied: “I haven’t seen the cable nor do I wish to sec it. I have nothing whatever to say having said all I intend saying to the police. Good morning, and thank you!
