HURRIED EXIT FROM BURNING HOUSE.
OWNER PELL ASLEEP WHILE LISTENING TO WIRELESS.

A family of seven had a narrow escape from being burned to death when ■a house in Otahuhu was destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. Mr Giles, the owner and occupier, was in bed listening to the wireless, when he fell asleep. Ho awoke to find the room in flames. He rushed to the room where the children were sleeping, and got them out safely. The house and contents were insured for £570.
