GRAND FLUTE RECITAL.

Lovers of entertainment, whose name is- legion, should be greatly interested in the recital and concert avhicli is to be given in the Be Luxe Theatre on Thursday evening, September 26th. , Mr Bavid Whisker, who is the recitalist, is a flautist of high attainments, and as the opportunity is not. often given the public to hoar a (lute soloist of professional rank, his visit should be keenly appreciated. Mr Whisker studied under the Continental master, Albert Arlom, at the Sydney Conservatorium, and AA’as a member of the State Orchestra. His offerings Avili be of a representative character, and in addition to his solo work he will be heard in concerted items. The supporting company is composed of ■ well trained artists, whose contribution will make up a varied programme calculated to appeal to all tastes. Miss Gavcu Lafferty, a local soprano of great promise, has been qngagod and is assured of a popular reception. Another performer avlio is making rapid' headway is Mr J. Rikihana, a young violinist who has developed technique and expression to a surprising degree, as will be demonstrated in the selections which lie will render. A departure from the musical routine will be involved in the appearance of Mr Kenneth Aitken, Avho may be relied upon, in the light of his long experience, to give elocutionary numbers that will be entirely satisfying. The pianist and accompanist will be Miss Borothy Mills, of Wellington, Avith Avhose high abilities the Levin public are already acquainted. Popular prices will bo charged for admission, and a special con'Cession Avili be made to students.
