TERRIFIC FIRE AT SEA.
OIL TANKER IN FLAMES; SOME OP CREW MISSING.

The British oil tanker Vimeira is ablaze. Three of the crew jumped overboard and were drowned. Twelve others are missing, and are believed to have been trapped in the cabins. The heat prevented fire-floats from approaching.
BLAZE STARTS IN FLOATING 7 BENZINE. FOREMOST TANK QUICKLY EXPLODED. "By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) . ROTTERDAM, Sept. 9. The Vimeira lay in dock with considerable benzine floating round. Suddenly this was ignited, presumably by a match thrown from a passing vessel. The flames rushed up the vessel's sides, exploding the foremost tank.
Five charred bodies have been re covered.
MYSTERIOUS MESSAGES FROM PASSING SHIPS. TANKER AFIRE OFF DUNKIRK. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 9. A passing ship wirelessed the North Foreland station thalt an 'unknown tanker was on fire off Dunkirk and the crew were taken off. Another ship wirelessed that the crew -were standing by and refused assistance. It was expected that the ship would explode.
