ROYAL SYMPATHY. THE KING’S CONCERN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day, The Governor-General has received the following message from their Majesties: “The Queen and I have learnt with much concern of the earthquake disaster in New Zealand. Our warm sympathy goes out to all . those who have suffered bereavement and desolation.’’ Sir Charles Fergmson, on behalf of the bereaved and other sufferers, is sending a reply thanking their Majesties for their gracious message and sympathy.

VICE-REGAL DONATION. The Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward) yesterday received from His 'Excellency the Governor-General (Sir Charles Eorgusson) tiie following letter: — “Her Excellency and I would like to contribute something towards the relief of those who have suffered from the recent earthquake. I notice that funds for that purpose are being collected generally through the Dominion, and presume that some arrangement will piobably be made to co-ordinate and apply the money centrally. “I enclose a cheque for £59. and would ask you to be so good as to dispose of it ia Whatever way you think •best for the purpose. ’ ’
