SHANNON BRIDGE.
NO OFFICIAL OPENING. -At Monday’s mooting of the Maniwata County Council notice was received fro in the Shannon Borough Council lo Iho effect that it had boon informed thar the County Council was assuming control of the new bridge over the Manawatu River at Shannon, and asking what steps had been taken lo have an official opening of the bridge. “1 don’t think we want any official opening,” slid Or. Perrctt, 'I he chairman (Cr. Barber) stated jlhat the Ilorowhenua County Council I had turn°d down a similar request.
