ROAD TO WAIRARAPA BLOCKED.

A big slip in the Taita (large, (lie main outlet to the Wairarapa Last night completely blocked the road and it is considered that for a week t.rattle must ■proceed by rail. The railway line is on the opposite side of the river. MANY SMALL SLIPS. WELLINGTON, dins Lay. Passengers by the Limijtcyl fro;m Auckland were transfer!ed tc a) other train oyer the slip at Paekakariki and arrived in, town just over two hours late. The delay at the slip itself was just a little over half an hour. On the road over Paekakariki some 23 slips, mostly small, are reported, and for a time the road itself was blocked. The slip on the railway where the derailment occurred is a small one.
