ASHHURST RACING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING- TO-MOREOW. In previous years the Ashhurst Racing Club have hold their annual fixture before Ch’-’‘- f ui°s hoiL-lay moelinsrs, falling In with the Le\ in— Peildlng—Woulville eLyuil,-' but when Foxton made a change ’in their dates, the Ashhurat Club put forward a claim

for Anniversary Day with a view of collecting some of the holiday atteu-r dairce. Foxton have benefitted considerably by the alteration and there ia every reason to believe that the change will effect an improvement in the northern club’s meeting also, as the circumstances differ a good deal from last year’s Anniversary meeting at Foxton and make it appear that the Wellington Club will suffer a small loss by the absence from their fixture of some of the Palmerston-northern Wairarapa racegoers who will. make Ashhurst their holiday outing, because of its handiness. The better class animal will, of course, prove a strong attraction at Trentham, hut Ashhurst has good fields and will provide interesting racing. . The programme is as follows, the first event being timed to start at 11.45 a.m.;— HACK HURDLES, of 150 sovs,; 1£ miles. Atareria .10 G L. Arlington 9 0 Locarno 30 4 Cold Air 9 (f Hymestrason 9 7 Eoburant '*9 & Othon 9 3 Mandate 9 0 In the opening event an improver in ROBURANT. might prove dangerous. If LOCARNO has taken kindly to jumping, he looks most capable of beating LIN ARLINGTON. MAIDEN STAKES, of 130- eovg. r weight, 8.7. Five furlongs. Many Acres Basaloma Miss Atlanta Waiavua Marcia Samtur Bon Acre Bonny Stream Ahumai Pot Shot Spccdaway Ao Marama Wco Knight Town Section' Inflame Mint Belle i Biohe Irish Moss Atacama Vexillum Scot Vale In sc Standard The Perch Vanilla M. POHANGINA HANDICAP, of 180 sovs.; .6 furlongs. Miss Pat 9 0 Mourna P dgemouac S 9 Trcaeurv 7 .9' Fpb tie S 3 Tj' I bin ‘ 7 5Tim Raider 7PI ’ ndy idea 7 0 i Vlmumocc 7 9 .V. Ringle. 7 0

'The Puhangimi Handicap boars a, fairly' open aspect wit!) Miss Pat now well up in the weights. The most likely trio to break her rim of wins are MOUTOA TREASURY, CALLANMORE and THE RAIDER. .SIBERIA HACK, of 150 so vs.; 0 furlongs. Shag. Star 753 To whirl 7 7‘ ' Abbey Queen 713 Wee Knight 7 3 Dermod 7 12 Warfillc . ■ -7 3 Monetize 711 Mint Belle 7 3 Tutira 7 1.1 Bon Acre 7 3 Atholspcar 711 Vexillnm 7 3 Grey Mist 710 Grattan 7 3 Gol. .Shadow 7 8 Ali Baba 7 3 ATHOLSPEAR’S Eoxton form looks, fairly good and the pair that are like-’-. ly to extend the Greyspear gelding in this event are TUTIRA and SHINING STAR. ASHHURST CUP, of 330 sovs.; 1£ miles. Roy.'' Game 8 5 Henna 7 B Anolo 8 2 Maui 7 9 Kilmiss 713 Kalos 7 9 L. Lhnoml . 7 12 Imp. Spark 7 1 Keddar 712 Turin k 7 1 Nucleus 7 II

If Foxton is any guide Royal Game, Henna, Maui, Kalos, and Twink, can ail be ticked off" as possibilities. Anolo’s .Stratford performances are good enough to suggest liim as likely, while if tlie going is at all heavy, Kilmiss will be favoured. Lady Limond will win shortly, while Keddar and Nucleus are distinct possibilities, more particularly the latter who should be - ready by now to go this distance. Of the Foxtm form Maui is certainly best with Kalos next. It is not going to be easy for- the punter, but good performances can be expected from Maui Anolo Nucleus. KOMAKO HACK, of 150 so vs,; 7 furlongs. Gold Cure 9 0 Aurora Chopin 7ld Borealis 7 4 Gold Bag 7 1J Balloon 7 1 First Ruler 7 0 Mothpianc 7 0 Volplane 7 D M. Mixture 7 O Keen 7 8 Basalorna 7 0. Dennod 7 8 Bione 7 0 Delude 7 8 Fine Acre 7 0 Cloyue 7 5 Kambur 7 0 The top-weight will probably be at Treutham, and in his absence the favoured trio will probably be BALLOON*. CHOPIN and GOLD BAG. RAUMAI HANDICAP, of 180 sovs.; 7 furlongs. Kilmozzo 9 2 Maui 8 5 The Swvh 8 0 ' Vigilance 7 9 M out on Imp. Spark 7 9 Treasury S »5 Wilderness 7 7 Kalos • 8 5 frond Hog 7 7 Mouroa, Treasury, Maui Kalos and Imperial Spark have earlier engagements. and in the absence of the former pair, it looks like the winner coming fiom KfLMEZZO and KALOS. A;ANAWATI/ GORGE HACK, of 150 sovs.; 1 mile. King Qm-x 9 4 Charmaline 7.11 Heat her - Wilmoreana 7 1.0 Blend 8 d Gol. .Shadow 7 9 Vexations 8 2 Balloon 7 9 Raukauponga 8 1 Ainthplane 7 8 Delude 733 Kilorell ' " 7 Aurora Roburant ■ 7 Borealis 713 Degree i 7

In me concluding event, speculators Wih probably look toi- a recovery in BALLOON, VEXATIOUS or KING b>ULX.
