LEVIN ATHLETIC SPORTS.
NUMEROUS ATTRACTIONS ARRANGED.
Although the Committee are sure that the public really need no reminder .about, the Electric Light Sports, they are taking this last opportunity of asking everyone to be sure to come along to the Levin Park Domain on Tuesday evening at 7.30 sharp. The cycling track has been newly whitewashed, which will enable - the spectators to watch the all the way round the track.
The Lower Hutt Athletic Club is sending a team of lady runnrs, who, besides competing in the other ladies’ events, will compete with a Palmerston North Club in a relay race. The B Grade Cycling events should prove very interesting; as nearly all tho riders are starting frea the scratch man*. M. Gane, the Wellington leading eyslist, will be present. He has just broken the two-mile record at Mastcn-on, beating T.. Oakley on the grass track, and last Saturday evening lie broke the New Zealand record for the three-mile cycling on the Wanganui asphalt track. The sporting papers claim Gane as the coming champion cyclist of New Zealand. The re will be items of interest to all —father, mother, children and even the babies. The grovvn-ups will be absorbed in the sports events; —the children and all who possess a “sweet, tpoth’" will be delighted with the icecream, soft drinks and sweets which will be for sale on the grounds; and the babies will love the music,—so there is no reason for anyone to stay away. ■ „
Supporters wish the Athletic Club all success with their sports and trust thov will have every reason to be pleased with the result of the meeting.
