LONDON WOOL SALE.
PRICES HEM. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Department of Agriculture received the following cablegram dated January 16 from the High Commissioner for New Zealand:—The London woo’, sales opened yesterday with a large attendance, all centres being represented. There was active competition, the Continent keenly supporting New Zealand crossbred. There was an excellent selection of merino but crossbred was in small supply. Compared with the closing rates of the last series, merino is firm but unchanged,, crossbred from par to live per cent higher. 103,200 bales are available for the series of which New Zealand supplies 23,700, Anstialia 73,250 and South Ameiu» 1,200.
