THE OTAKI HOSPITAL.
- ITS FUTURE SCOPE. Mr. Field (Otaki) asked the Minister of Health—-(1) whether the contract had been signed for the alterations and additions to the Otaki Hospital, and what time has been limited for completion of the work! (i2) Whether the people of the Otaki district can now rely on their hospital, with eleven beds for ordinary patients and four f'or ; maternity cases, being fully equipped and brought up to date and-conducted as a district or eottage ; hospital, and that the ordinary beds shall be fully used for treatment of less serious eases of illness and accident, the more serious cases going to the central' hospital at Palmerston North, and that the institution be thus again allowed to prove itself, what it Was for years, a* boon and source of pride to the whole district? , /.’■■ise.Hon^ ; 3£r.: Young (Minister of Health) haa replied: A tender has* been accepted for the additions to the Otaki Hospital. The hospital will contain eleven general and four maternity beds, and will be administered by the Palmerston North Hospital Board, the intention of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act.
