Messrs W. Grounds (chairman) and Dynes Fulton were the only nominations in Nos. 1 and 2 Wards of tho Dairy Control Board and they have been declared elected. An election is necessary in the No. 8 Ward (Dunedin).
The many friends of the Chief Justice (Sir Charles Skerrett) who underwent a serious operation recently, will regret to learn that his health is less * satisfactory than it was when the last medical bulletin was issued. To-day his condition was reported to bo unchanged. - '
A Press telegram from Auckland states that Dr. Boyd, Health Officer, after an inquiry expresses the opinion that the report of many eases of sickness at Grey Lynn,- suggested to be ptomaine poisoning, is due to a form of gastric influenza, which is fairly prevalent in Auckland.
