NO MAYORS IN ITALY.
MUSSOLINI APPOINTS TOWN MANAGERS. ‘(By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received This Bay, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 17. The Daily Telegraph’s Rome correspondent says Mussolini has appointed new municipal heads in 46 of the chief towns to replace Mayors. These an the first instalment of 5000 to be appointed to rule the. towns throughout Italy. All the appointments were made in Rome by Fascist Governors, who have a power of making public appointments greater than any Government in the world. Descendants of old families with noble titles are conspicuous in most of the appointments just made.
