DROWNED CROSSING A RIVER.
(Per Press Association.) TAUMARUNUT, July 17. Philip Samuels, 19, of Nihoniho, was drowned yesterday in the Churn river. Deceased and a mate were crossing the river in a punt aided by a rope pegged from bank to bank.Deceased was pulling the boat across and when quite close to the bank fell into the river and disappeared No trace of the body was found till late yesterday afternoon.
