HOLIDAY FATALITIES.
TWO DEATHS BY DROWNING. .Wellington, Last Night. A iatality occurred at Lyail Bay today. a young man named Frank Holroyd, tram conductor, aged 21, with relations living in Auckland, was drowned. With Maltby, a companion, Holroyd went for a swim. When c/jino distance from the shore both got toto difficulties. Holroyd disappeared .axifi the body lias not been recovered. .MaiJliy had a narrow escape, and reached the■shore in an exhausted condition. Auckland, Last Night. A,boy aged eight years, named Leslie Grant,' was drowned off Point chevalier beacli this aiternoon. He"was in a punt without oars, with three other hoys, when the punt capsized. A parly pot off hr a boat and rescued three of the hoys, hut they could find no trace of Grant. His body was sub- | sequently recovered.
