UNITING POULTRY INTERESTS.
♦ LEVIN JOINS PALMERSTON SOCIETY. A meeting of local poultrymen wag held last evening to further consider joining up with the Manawatu Cooperative Utility ‘ Poultry Society lor the better marketing of produce and conserving the interests of the producers. Mr A. H. Sims was in the chair, and there was an attendance of fifteen poultrymen. An informal discussion took place* on the matters raised at last week’s meeting, after which Mr G. Webb moved that affiliation with the Manawatu Co-operative Utility Poultry Society, Ltd., be proceeded with* and that Ihe poultrymen manage their own local affairs. This was seconded by Mr Leger and carried unanimously. An offer of a depot at 12s 6d per week was accepted for six months. Mr Webb proposed that Mr Sims be manager and secretary, which was agreed to. It was decided that the depot be started on September 1, and a committee was appointed to confer with the manager on matters of detail after his return from Palmerston North.
