Croquet.
The member* of the Levin Ladie*' Croquet Club are at present very busy devising means to pay for the laying down of their new green, which it is hoped to have ready by next sea ß on. On Tuesday next the ladies are holding a Shop Day in the premises lately occupied by the Kosy Tea Rooms (next Macdonald's saddlery), and they would like the assistance of friends and wellwishers in providing saleable good's. On Wednesday, February 23, the ladies intend holding a competition afternoon on the green, and in the evening a moonlight concert. Afternoon tea and supper will be provided andl both functions should be viery enjoyable. Last Thursday an all-day tournament was played on the green and proved most enjoyable. It is proposed to hold two similar competitions during the remainder of the season.
