Coloured lights in opal glass, and lead fittings to prevent erosion, will be seen on the semi-circular bay on the Marine Parade, Napier, next week. The lights, which had to be obtained from Czecho-Slovakia, are in a special opal glass which prevents the bulb from showing through the glass, and will be in blue, amber, and light mauve. Special fittings will guard against possible corrosion through contact with the salt spray, and the lights will provide an added gaiety to the parade for the Christmas holiday, season. Borough workmen are at present engaged in preliminary work for the fitting of the lamps.
