Not Helping the Government (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 8. “Some local bodies who did all they could to help the last Government are not doing anything to help us. They are sacking men right and left and going to put them all off. They would starve a babe to satisfy political bigotry,” said the Hon. R. Semple this morning. ‘ ‘ While the Government is doing its best to absorb 'nemployed in useful productive work, some local bodies are suspending work and discharging relief workers.”
