AUSTRALIAN LOAN
Recovered Nearly to Par LONDON. June 17. The city editor of “The Times” says that the recent Australian conversion loan has recovered nearly to par. This loan was for £16,550,000 at per cent., issued at £99 and maturing 194143. Dealings opened on Monday last at J per cent, discount. The London representative of the Australian Associated Press says he understands that the success of the Australian conversion loan can be gauged from the fact that tho cash applicants received only 68 per cent, of their requirements.
Tlie loan referred to is one of £116,551,-103 at 2J per cent, ut £99 maturing 1341-43, for the conversion of the following issues: New South Wales, £10,954,600 at 4) per cent.; South Australia, £2,368.141 at 5 per cent.; Western Australia. £2,631,165 at 4.J per ecut.; and Western Austialia, £597,497 at 3 per cent.
