Entertainment Arrangements The first of the many meetings held in conjunction with the National Dairy Conference took place in Hastings this morning, the majority of the delegates to the conference having arrived yesterday and overnight. A comprehensive programme confronts the delegates. the conference and its attendant meetings, lectures and other functions being scheduled for three days. At the meeting of the National Dairy Association this morning every delegate was presented with a circular letter signed by Deputy-Mayor A. 1. Rainbow, president of the Hastings and District Progress League, and the secretary (Mr. G. E. G. Rogers) outlining the arrangements made by the league in connection with the visitors. The letter read as follows:— “Dear Sir. —In extending to you a most cordial welcome to Hastings, the executive committee of the Hastings and District Progress League hopes that your stay will be a happy one. “The committee has arranged the Chinese hair in the Assembly Hall on Wednesday and Thursday. The evening sessions open at 7.30 o’clock and Thursday afternoon session at 2.30. You are recommended to attend this novelty Eair and the committee hopes that you will make use of the attached complimentary ticket. “A motor drive has been arranger! for Friday afternoon. Cars will leave the Hastings Railway Station at 2 p.m., and after a tour of the district yon will be entertained at afternoon tea bv the Napier Borough Council. “The following men’s clubs extend the usual courtesies to visiting delegates Hastings Club, Heretannga Club, County Club National Service Clnb. “The Women « Division of the Farmers’ Union extends hospitality to visiting members and the Women’s Community Club to thirty wives of visiting delegates at 2.30 p.m. on Wednes-
