- ‘ 1 God the Only Cause and Creator ’ ’ was the subject ,of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, yesterday. The golden text was from Psalms 121:1, 2, “1 will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Aly help cometh from the Lord, wurcii made heaven and earth.

Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon were the following from the Bible; “1 would seek unto God, and unto God would 1 commit my cause; which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number, it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are nut consumed, because His compassions fail not. ior in Him we live, and move, and have our being.” (Job 5:8, Lam. 3:22, Acts 17:28.) Also the following passages from the Christian Science text-book, “Science aud Health with Key to the scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy; “The procuring cause and foundation of all sickness is fear, ignorance, or sin. Disease is always induced by a false sense mentally entertained, not destroyed. Disease is an image of thought externalised. The mental state is called a material slate. Whatever is cherished in mortal mind us the physical condition is imaged forth on the body. God does not cause map to sin, to be sick, or to die.” (pp. 411, 206.)
