Bride-to-Be Entertained

On Thursday afternoon Mesdames J. W. Harding, H. Carylon and Miss Sylvia Monckton were joint hostesses at a very happy “bathroom gift” party given in honour of Miss Molly Wilson, who is to be a Juno bride.

The function was held at Airs J. W. Harding’s residence, Mt. Vernon, where the rooms were most attractively decorated with bowls of pink polyanthus roses and red berried shrubs, and fernery, big log-fires creating a cheery atmosphere. During the afternoon the guests, were given the task of drawing a picture of the guest of honour. Miss Dumpy Carylon was adjudged the winner and was awarded a box of chocolates for her excellent effort. A delicious tea was served, the miniature wedding cake artistically decorated with the bridal retinue being much admired, after which the bride-to-be, assisted by her two bridesmaids, opened her many parcels and thanked all present for the many useful gifts she had received, and the hostesses for giving her such a nice party. The guests were received by Mrs Harding, who was wearing a model gown in brown silk crepe with flared elbow-length sleeves and a touch 6? cream at the neckline. Airs H. Carylon wore a gown in dark red floral velvet and matching hat. Miss Sylvia Monckton, light grey tweed suit worn with a blue jumper and blue hat.

The guest of honour was wearing a smart blue-grey tweed suit with a blue woollen jumper and blue velour shovel hat.
