Engagement Announced
Air. and Airs. H. Ellis, Aladeria Steps, Napier entertained some of their daughter’s c»osest friends to a cocktail party last week, the function celebrating the announcement that day of the engagement of Miss Hazel Ellis to Air. A. B. Raniiy, Te Aroha. Bowls of autumn-tinted chrysanthemums decorated the lounge, where delicious savouries and cocktails were served. Afrs. H. Ellis received in a smart frock of black georgette flowered in gold. Aliss Haze] Ellis woro a model frock in blue wool maroeain finished with dainty knitting. There were also present: Mr. A. B. Ranby, Mr. and Airs. W. B. Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. O’Connell, Misses M. Alendelssohn, Al. Fenton, C. Hutchinson, Messrs R. Falls, Ken Douglas and N. Harston.
