Saturday’s Matches

On the adjoining ground two old rivals in Hastings and Celtic meet, and here again a first-class game should be provided. These teams should be very evenly matched, with the fortunes of the game fluctuating to the final whistle. Included in the early games is a team from Matapiro, Fernhill, who will play a friendly game with the Haumoana juniors. NAPIER GAMES Another important game i s set down as the chief attraction at McLean Park to-morrow, when Technical Old Boys will, attempt, with every reason for confidence, to down the championship leaders, Marist 8.0.8. Early this season Tech. Old Boys showed a distinct loss of form, but their recent successes, notably their substantial win over Napier H. 5.0.8. last Saturday, show that they are a team to be reckoned with. lech, play a fine open game, and to-morrow’s contest should provide plenty qf thrills. Patrons can expect just as interesting a game as they have seen for the past two weeks. On No. 2 ground, Havelock North, who have don o particularly well this year, will play Napier H. 5.0.8. The latter will probably take tho field favourites, but there are many who favour Havelock North’s chances. It should be a lino game to watch. There will be the usual early games at 1.30 p.a.
