COOL BANDITS
Bank Truck Robbed of 50,000 Dollars STOPPED BY POLICEMAN By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright NEW YORK, June 3. Three bandits stole 50,000 dollars in New York to-day and escaped after being stopped by a policeman, who gave them a summons to appear in the Traffic Court to-morrow for having passed a traffic light.
The bank automobile was transferring funds from one branch to another in the Bronx. It was stopped in the traffic, when another car drew alongside, three men stepped out and relieved the messengers of the money and sped away. Some distance ahead, a motor cycle policeman saw the bandit car pass a red light. He halted it and, so cool were the men that he suspected nothing. Nonchalantly accepting a summons, the robbers drove off and abandoned the car shortly afterwards.
