MAORI v. PAKEHA
New League Fixture The customary Town v. Country match ot the Hawke’s Bay Rugby League has been abolished in favour of a match betwcn Maori and pakeha Members of the board of control of the Hawke’s Bay Rugby League felt at their weekly meeting in Napier last evening that the Town and Country match was a failure because of the inequality of the teams which took the field. An additional fact in favour of *-he new fixture was that it would serve a» a guide for the selectio not the Maori team which was to travel to Auckland in quest of the Waitangi Shield, ihe Maori players would have a chance to play together, and the selector further to gauge tho merits of the players. A junior fixture, also, Town versus Country is to be played as a curtainraiser to the senior game, which takes place on the King's Birthday, June 2J. American Industry in Wartime
