Railway Maintenance.
The permanent re-laying gang of the Railway Department has commenced work upon the line at Clive, where adiustmeuts of points and crossings and general renovation work is being carried out. The gang arrived at Clive alter completing the re-sleepcring of the length of track through the Manawatu Gorge
Airman's Successes. Advice has been received by Mr. aud Mrs. W. E. Robins, of “Collingwood,” Judea of the success of their eldest son Mr. Jack Robins, in passing two aviation examinations at the Mascot aerodrome, near Sydney. Mr. Robins is a member of the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales, which he joined in October last and he was successful in gaining his A license in December and his Commercial B pilot’s license in March Inst. Mr. Robins is still a member of the same club and is now studying for a wireless operator’s license. Considering the short time he has been associated with aviation, Mr. Robins Ims been very successful. Mr. Robins is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bruukc-la' lor, of Hastings.
