N.Z. GOODS AT HOME

Growing Sales in North of England MANCHESTER EXHIBITION (By Telegraph—Press Assn., Copyright.) (Received 23, 95 a.m.) LONDON, April 22. Sir James Parr was prevented by illness from opening the Grocers and Allied Trades Exhibition at Manchester. Mr Sandford, chief secretary at the New Zealand Office, on behalf of Sir James Parr, stressed the value of New Zealand trade to British manufac turers.

Mr Goodson, chairman of the exhibition committee, replied that Britain took 80 per cent, of New Zealand exports. A few years ago it had been impossible to buy Australian and New Zealand butter in the North of England where it was now stocked by almost every shop.

The exhibition coincides with the arrival of new Australian dried fruits, which are becoming increasingly popular in the North of England.
