BEES DELAY RACES
Settle Near Winning-Post STEWARDS FEAR ACCIDENT (Received 23, 10.25 a.m.) BRISBANE, April 23. A swarm of bees held up the Ipswich races yesterday afternoon. A few minutes before the first race the swarm settled on the rails near the winningpost. The stewards, fearing an accident should any of the horses be stung, refused to allow the races to start. A bee farmer then captured the bees in a bag, and the meeting started a quarter of an hour late.
