On Saturday evening, Mr C. O. Morse entertained some forty guests at his residence in Delhi road, Napier, the occasion being a complimentary evening tendered to Mr Leslie Harris, who is shortly to be married. It was a men’s party and all spent a jolly time. After several speeches had been made, Mr Morse, on behalf of all present, presented the guest of honour with a silver electric hot-water jug. and voiced their united wishes for his future. At the same time Mrs R. V. C. Harris entertained the same number of ladies at her home in Cameron road, an equally happy time being spent in competitions. A delicious savoury supper was served.
