HORONUI HISTORY
Field Day on Saturday
The Hastings Historical Society has arranged to hold the first of its “field” days next Saturday, March 21, on Mr. 11. M. Campbell’s property at Horonui. This place is rich in historic associations, several pas having been built there at various times in the past. Arrangements are being made by Mr. P. H. Tomoana for loading Maoris conversant with the early history of the place to recount these historic associations as the various sites are visited. This should prove intensely interesting. Verbatim reports will be taken of such accounts and recorded by the Historical Society. Members and intending members are requested to meet near the Women’s Rest at 1 p.m. next Saturday.
