GIRL GUIDE RALLY
Waipawa Wins Cup From Our Own Correspondent. On Saturday last a large and successful rally of Girl Guids was held at Norsewood, being the occasion of the Southern Hawke’s Bay Cup competition. Fine weather prevailed and a most enjoyable time was spent in the Norsewood Park, when the visiting Guides picnicked by the bathing pool in thg glorious sunshine. Teams of Guides from Woodville, Norsewood, Dannevirke, Takapau, Waipukurau and Waipawa took part in the competitions, which consisted of team games and second-class Guide work. The Waipawa team was successful in winning the silver cup for the highest aggregate of points, the Woodville and Norsewood teams being runners-up. The death occurred early yesterday morning at the District Hospital, of Mr H. T. Pithie, a well-known resident, of Waipawa. Mr Pithie had been a sufferer for a very long time. He loaves a wife and two young children to whom the sympathy of their many friends will be extended.
