ATHLETICS AND CYCLING
Hastings Wind-Up Meeting
On Wednesday night, March 18, the Hastings Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club will be holding a monster open sports meeting, to wind up its season. Good prizes have been donated, and entries received are good. Providing the weather keeps fine, it will be a great meeting. Last Wednesday evening, the public had a glimpse of what the Hastings Amateur Athletic Club could produce, and if they will come along this Wednesday evening they will see that Hastings is not lacking in talent among the athletes. The programme drawn up is lengthy, and all the events aro-first class. Wonderful entries have been received in the cycling, and leading cyclists of Hawke s Bay will be competing. The women's relay team will be on deck that night, and will show the public how they won the New Zealand championship. The admission into the ground is reasonable and includes the stands. Do not forget to come along next Wednesday evening at 7.45 p.m., when the sports will be starting sharp on time.
