Two Carriers Fined
Two breaches of the traffic regulations came before Mr J. Miller, S.M., in the Napier Magistrate’s Court this morning on information laid by Mr W. E. Yates, traffic inspector for the Hawke's Bay County Council. A. E. Habgood was fined £5, with 10/- courte osts, for carrying on an unlicensed goods service. Defendant is a carrier. The Magistrate remarked upon the seriousness of the offence, and said that the low provided for a penalty of £lO a day. Bernard Pepper, a carrier, of Hastings, was fined a similar amount for operating a motor truck without a heavy traffic license. Mr Yates stated that defendant had been before the court before in this connection.
