HASTINGS IN LEAD

Position Now Almost Unassailable TECHNICAL 0.8. BEATEN By securing a first innings victory over Technical Old. Boys at Napittr on Saturday Hastings placed themselves in an almost unassailable position for the Hawke’s Bay cricket championship. They increased their lead to four points and there is but one series of matches to go. All matches on Saturday were oneday fixtures as the result of the postponement of play the week previously on account of rain. Hastings beat Technical 0.8. by Ive runs in a comparatively low scoring game. At Hastings two games were played, Rugby drawing with Napier H. 5.0.8. and United defeating Hastings H.S.0.8. by a comfortable margin on the first innings.

The outstanding individual performance of the afternoon was that of T.
