HATUMA DEBATING
From Our Own Correspondent. HATUMA, March 13 The annual general meeting of the Hatuma Debating Society took place in the local hall last evening, there being a good attendance of members. After receiving the report on last year's work, the election of officers for th< coming rear took place, and resulted as follows:—President, Mr R. Edgecombe; secretary. Mr G. Edgecombe; committee, Miss J. Allan, Messrs L. Edgecombe. M. Pattersen, W. Fergus<on and R. Thomsen. The subscription was fixed for women ?/-, men 2/6. It was decided that the evenings of tie debate be alternate Thursdays. The first debate is to take place on March 19, the debate to take the form of a mock parliament, when the question, “that an embargo be placed on Alsatian dogs,” will be discussed.
