SHIELD BOWLING
Ahuriri Club Teams
During the coming week-end the Wairoa Bowling Club will visit the Port Ahuriri green in quest of the Iron Pot Cup. This is always an extremely popular fixture, and one to which Port members look forward with keen anticipation. The Port Club will return the visit later in the season.
Interest centres on the Shield fixtures for the next two Saturdays. The Port teams for next Saturday’s games are as follow:—
V. Waipawa (away): Pool, Kalin, Pirie, McLeay. V. Waipukurau (at home): Carr, Angus, Crawford, Johnson. V. Wairere (away): McLennan, Briasco, Burrows, McCarthy; McNish, A. Anderson, Kennedy, Boyd; Brownie, Cuff, Ruffell, Wrightson. V. Wairere (at home): C. Johnson, Parsons, Courtney, Mayo; McKay, Black, Poppelwell, Danvers; Clegg, Pufflett, F. Logan, Bull;
Other rinks (at home): A. Logan, H. E. Smith. Kiddell, J P. Smith; Morley, Goss, Earney, Steele; Ball, Hannah, Watts, Taylor; Powell, Turnpenny, Head, Lockwood.
