WAIPAWA ELECTORATE
Address by Mr. W. L. Barker DEMOCRAT’S CAMPAIGN The election campaign of the Democrat Party’s candidate for the Waipawa seat, Mr. W. L. Barker, opened in the Waipukurau Municipal Theatre last night when a good house, which was presided over by the Mayor, Mr. 1. W. N. Mackie, accorded the speaker an attentative hearing. Mr. Barker, in the course of his address criticised the legislation of the past four years and also the Labour Party’s guaranteed-price policy. His own party’s policy was fully covered in his remarks, which were listened to attentively. He was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence by the meeting after he had answered a. number of questions which were put to him. Mr. Barker is to deliver his policy speech at Havelock North to-morrow night in the Village Hall.
