NO ROUGH PLAY
ALL BLACKS & LLANELLY Magnificently Thrilling Game REPLY TO TOURISTS’ CRITICS (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received 24, 10.30 a.m.) CARDIFF, Oct. 23. The New Zealanders deprecate reports of rough play, the forwards on both sides in the Llanelly match appreciating a hard, keen game. Dr. Rocyn Jones, of Llanelly, was officially asked by a Press agency if it were true that there were scenes al Llanelly. He said that there had been nothing of the kind; all that was seen was a magnificently thrilling game. He protested again criticisms of the present touriUs as not being equal to previous teams, declaring that it was not deterioration in the New Zealanders, but improvement in British Rugby since 1924, which accounted for the fact that the sides were more nearly equal The New Zealanders are greatly heartened by their win against Llanelly. They believe that at last they have found their real form. Mr. Meredith is hopeful of further improvement. Page will not be available for a fortnight. Ho and Dalton are in light training. McLean, Pepper, Best aud Wynyard will probably be available for Saturday’s game.
