DEFECTIVE BRAKES
Offending Drivers Punished
“Despite a lot of publicity given in the newspapers, there are still a lot of motor drivers driving vehicles with defective brakes,” said the Napier borough traffic inspector, Mr A. M. Oliver, in the Napier Magistrate’s Court this morning. Upon his information, six motor drivers were convicted of charges of driving vehicles with defective brakes.
Fines of £l, with costs 10/-, were imposed upon Kenneth Norman Porter, "William George Wise, Andrew Mitchell, and Jack Nathaniel Wakeley. On similar charges, Arthur Smith and Henry Albert Eden were fined 10/-, with costs 10/-.
Mr J. Miller, S.M., was on the bench.
